I was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis a year ago, it was cured with Dalacin Vag Ovule that was prescribed by Gynecologists .Now, I think i have BV again. Im not sexually active for almost a year. Just now I have a new partner. I already take Vagi C Vag Tab(for recurrent attack) since the doctor recommend this medicine in case the bv comes back again. Right after taking Vagi C for 5 days my period comes ( im not sure if it affects the effectiveness of the medicine). My menstrual period is finished but i think the bv is still there. should i take again the Dalacin (the medicine i took a year ago) or Flagyl (this was recommended a year ago if dalacin will not take effect).

please see attached prescription

i hope you can help me, this bv is really frustratingimage

    Dear N

From my point of view I would stay away from flagyll. Antibiotics sometimes work and sometimes work for what seems to be a long time then they stop working. Have you tried sea salt baths daily for five consecutive days? Can you telephone your gynaecologist and ask him or her what can be done next in terms of Western medicine. As well as the possible side effect of the fungi thrush from taking flagyll.

I see that dalacin is clindamycin which is an antibiotic that also comes in a tablet which might be worth looking into. An idea for you is to stop using your usual shampoo.

Thats great news that it has not come back! Are Vagi C tablets just vitamin c, or does it contain other ingredients?
