Just a brief history. I am 28 years old and have had health anxiety for 8 years now. I've dealt with it my own. I've had every physical symptom you can imagine. Most recently it's my heart. I am an lvn and work in healthcare so that makes it worse. I've had several ekgs all normal. Blood work all normal other than slightly elevated liver enzymes. My PCP thinks it's all anxiety. I've had beaus lines for about a year now. My doctor isn't worried and says everything looks normal. Google says it means there is something medically wrong with your health. Does anyone else have these? I dont take any meds and do my have any diagnoses at the time. I can't stop worrying about these.

I’ve had mine for 12 years now!! They never go! I always ask the dr about them as they worry me but all bloods come back normal.

ive suffered health anxiety for 20 years so maybe they are to do with stress 🤔

I have them too. I've had them for a few years now. I asked my GP and gastro and they never seemed bothered. I get them on my big toes too. My 8 year old daughter gets them too on her nails. I read if they are mid nail then there has been a trauma around 2 months before. I seem to get mine randomly and also at times of great stress. I have heart paps and suffer from severe anxiety at times. Glad I'm not the only one. ??

I’d say mine are mild but constant they never grow out.

You say you asked your gastroenterologist? I suffer from stomach problems too so wonder if connected there too? My daughter also has very mild ones.

Hi there, funnily enough acid reflux and IBS!! I had an endoscopy a few months ago and all was fine apart from a very loose sphincter, probably caused by all my anxiety!!

I have just found out after having stool analysis I have no good bacteria and quite a few bad ones! Nutritionist said this could be causing all my symptoms, maybe worth you looking into!

My little fingernails are the only nail that’s ok!

I have them on my Toes now too 🙄

Oh wow! I used to worry about my nails but I've had it so long now and I've had many heart tests as they found a murmur years ago and all fine. I suffer with palpitations and anxiety. I'm suffering with brittle nails at the minute too. But I've been referred to the gastro again as I've had chronic diarrhoea and light stools for months now. Had a fecal calprotectin test and it came back high. Its never ending 😞

Aww might be an idea to look at your diet and taking some supplements.

Me too, I’ve had so many heart tests, mri scans, countless blood tests and they tell me all fine so I really do think stress plays a major part.

I take supplements, I eat incredibly healthy, have even stopped drinking alcohol 😒

I hope your gastro tests all go well.

Thank you all for your replies. It drives me crazy! I have horrible health anxiety and beau's lines supposedly is a sign of severe systemic illness. My doctor tells me everything is fine and literally wasn't even worried about them. Mine grow out but it's like I constantly have them on my nails. Old ones grow out and new ones come in. I thought my anxiety had been better but I think I substituted it with full time school and full time work. I'm so glad I'm not the only and yall have been told a pretty clean bill of health.

It drives me crazy too! I’ve worried about them for so many years, as you say you read on the internet it’s a sign of a systemic illness so I keep asking the dr are they missing something!!

It seems we all have one thing in common.... anxiety! Maybe it is stressing our bodies out 🙄
