Bed sore help

Hi Guys,
Me again just wondering if anyone can help, I had my pre assessment last Wednesday and thought everything was fine I have bed sores as I have been unable to lie down on my bed since last August but they are dry at the moment the pre op nurse looked at them and said they were fine. But hey ho as with me nothing is ever that straightforward, got a phone call from the hospital on Friday saying my surgeon wants to see me at his clinic at 9 am on Tuesday morning the day before my operation to examine the bed sores question is SHOULD I BE WORRIED? I think I will actually die if he cancels my op as that will be 37 weeks waiting for it.
So if anybody can shed any light on this I would be most grateful as I am terrified for Tuesday. Much appreciated Guys x

Hi jacq, not sure if this helps but when developed a bed sore on my elbow due to immobility I found that a paste made from tumeric powder and water and pasted it on twice a day and covered with sterile dressings, this healed it up in no time, it was classed as a stage 3 sore so had penetrated the upper layers and was pretty gungy, not pleasant but 3/4 days later when the tissue nurse came she said it looked loads better.
I don't know what stage yours is and I'm not saying it will repair the skin but its worth a try if your GP or flesh nurse says its OK. They will probably swab it to make sure its not carrying MRSA

You could try bribery! Good luck anyway. You deserve a break.
Cheers Richard

It was only a thought. Let me tell you a little story to take your mind off your waiting and as it is Monday morning!
My surgeons scheduling lady is called Rebecca so when she told me this I said straight away that I used to have a sheep called that which she thought was rather fun. Anyway I said that I would see if I could find a picture for her....the sheep had died well over twenty years ago and was an orphan lamb that my wife had brought back one day whilst district nursing.
Well I did manage to find a picture and emailed it over to her and she was so thrilled and printed it off and has it in the office just above her computer. Later I was able to send her a picture of Rebecca as a very young lamb and a later one as a young sheep. Rebecca was a Jacob sheep BTW for anyone interested!
All the best

Dear Jacq
It's far too cold to be taking a dip in the river so I would be tempted to save that for the summer when your surgery is well and truly a distant memory!
All the best for your meeting tomorrow.Richard
