Been barely been able to leave the house due to bad knee pain for 2 years!

I have pain in both knees and it's limiting my life. It is a grinding and burning pain that happens when I walk.

I’ve had MRIs, X-rays and blood tests, but they have shown nothing.

Just before the knee pain started I was doing 20 minutes of jumping jacks a day. And before that I was using the treadmill for 30 to 60 mins a day. But surely if that had caused the problem it would have healed after 2 years or it would show on the scans.

At the start of this year, I have managed to build up to walking outside for a bout 20 minutes before the pain starts. However, a few months ago I was referred to a physiotherapist and now even this 20 minutes of walking has become difficult.

I find the physiotherapists exercises to cause pain. However, she says it’s normal and after a while the pain will stop. But I have been doing them for a few months and seen no improvements (The pain from the excersies has lessened, but I’ve not seen an improvement in my ability to walk without pain).

I’d really appreciate any insights as I have tried everything, but I just can’t get me knees better!

I am a 33 year old male living in England.

It may take over a year for the soft tissue issues in your knee to heal. Keep doing the exercises and be patient.

Is there anyway to verify the soft tissue? Is there any thing I can do help it heal quicker. At the moment, I use an ice pack. Also, how much walking should I am to do?

      Thanks for your reply!

What kind of exercises are causing you pain? Where exactly is the pain? Have you had any surgeries before?

      Thanks for the reply!

The exercises that cause the pain are squats. But apparently, squats help to build up muscles around the knee and are supposed to be good for it.

The pain is on the front of both knees. It is a burning mixed with grinding pain.

I have had no surgeries on my knee.

Yes after 10 minutes of walking it hurts really bad (it is a grinding and burning pain) and then it lasts for several hours.

i'm not sure what to say. request that you see a surgeon, not a doctor. They know much better. Also, if you're not happy with one surgeon's diagnosis, see others. It has been years, so there's definitely something wrong
