Hey all
I have suffered from anxiety now for two and a half years and have generally had good control of it. This has not been the case for the last month and a half. It all started when I got a stomach bug and my anxiety flared up as it always does when I am sick. The problem is that it hasn't went away and I haven't been sick for a good month.
The problem I'm having is that I get weird pressure in my head, almost feels like a cloud of pressure and it targets different areas, some days its in the front other in the back etc. It also comes with what feels like fluid in my ears and then I have loss of balance, coordination issues and tunnel and double vision. These are all things that have never occured with my anxiety. When I have anxiety I generally feel as though I am having a heart attack and that I can't swallow (lump in throat).
I have been to my GP five times and the hospital two times but everyone just keeps telling me its my anixety, which I am having a hard time believing. My doctor won't give me an MRI as she believes it is unwarranted as it is "just my anxiety", I just can't help but feel it is more then that, maybe something neurological? I just need help, I don' t feel that this is my anxiety.

Do you have social anxiety or general anxiety?
It's quite possible that this is anxiety because you say you haven't been sick for quite a while but still have symptoms
Looking forward to hearing from you to try and help

typically your doctor will perform checks for hyperreflexia or moving your feet up and down, checking for circulation and so on why talking to you with many of us chalking it up as our doctor just checking us for vitals and so on, but in reality they're likely running through checklists based on the symptoms you describe.
serious neurological disorders are clinically diagnosed and always when blatantly obvious. there's typically a criteria for them so be thankful it's obvious to your doctor that you're not presenting with something substantial to meet the criteria of any. this doesn't mean you can't request an MRI or openly state your fears to your doctor, which you should if you haven't.
with all this written...the symptoms you describe are some of many that go along with anxiety. i've dealt with chronic anxiety for years and have had every single one you've mentioned. i've convinced myself of difficulties swallowing or losing weight or seeing myself as thinner when in fact i had gained 10lbs but somehow looked skinny at certain angles. constantly comparing arms and legs for symmetry or doing strength checks daily out of fear of a neurological condition. likewise, i've had and still have vision issues although my vision is still 20/20. i get double vision and blurred vision. the off balance light headed like you're on a boat walking sensation is frustrating and annoying. earfulness too is another frustrating symptom to the point of buying a earwash kit thinking i had built up earwax that provided no relief.
i'd go into other symptoms but would rather not plant seeds making your struggle with anxiety more difficult. the root of it all is worry which comes in all shapes and forms. minimize worry and you'll minimize the physical symptoms. try to look back on focus on what lead you to these symptoms two and half years ago. anyway, good luck. you're far from alone here.

Thank you for your reply.
Just when I thought I had gotten use to the feeling of having a heart attack and being okay with that, now I feel like I'm losing my mind, guess I'll have to learn to live with this as well. Anxiety is not fun and I'm sorry that you have been going through this as well.

I just recently ran into the same issues. How old are you?
About a month ago i started getting weird presures and pains in my head. It would move from one side to the other and it was also making me feel nauseous. Went to the doctor and right away they said I had a anxiety disorder which I found hard to believe seeing how im only 30 and never had issues before! Finally couldnt take it anymore and went to the ER and of course, they told me the same thing. The head pains sub-sided after a week or so and now it will just randomly get head pains here and there. Still scares the crap out of me. Now at night time when im laying in bed I feel like its hard to breathe. It just dosent make sense to me but then again, I have had two blood test and a urine test and everything has come back normal. I think the fact that i dont want to accept that it is anxiety is making it much worse.
One tip i can give if you can, is take a warm bath at night. I recently have gotten into Dr. Teals bath salts and it is amazing and very relaxing .
The anxiety battle is hard, but im trying so hard not to let it take over my life!
Best of luck to you!

Hey
I am 25 and have now been suffering from anxiety for almost three years. I understand the whole having a hard time accepting its anxiety. For me I find it strange that my anxiety has manifested itself this way as for the last basically three years it has always presented itself as a heart attack cant breathe feeling.
It makes me feel like I'm going crazy this pressure in my head, I'm constantly crying and irratiable and it sucks. I love baths I find them super relaxing I also use a scent diffuser with lemongrass as I find it very calming.
I wish you the best of luck in your journey.
