I've been on fluoxetine for 5 weeks now 20mg only as I'm quite light and don't want a higher dose, the first month for me was hell honestly increased anxiety, constant panic attacks, strange vision, felt detached from myself and just didn't feel normal at all I got all the worst side effects and my anxiety levels were worse at night. For the first 4 weeks the vision blurs really bothered me but for some reason this week 5 it is settling down. Stay hopefully, be patient and give it time fluoxetine takes up to 12 weeks to work but side effects are a good indication the medication will work for you honey. I'm settling down now and still having a few side effects but it's all bearable. Well done on persevering with it the results will make you glad you stuck it out! Trust me in a few weeks you will feel a whole lot better my love x

And also the changing of doses also I'll make the side effects stick around a little longer once you get the right dose that works for you it will settle down rather quickly x

thankyou for the encouragement this is so tuff i didnt have many side effects on the 20mg do you think that means the 30 is too high should i go the 12 weeks on the 20s before increasing its so hard to get a hold of my doctors and the psychiatrist cant get me in till the end of the month

If you felt the 20mg was helping I would maybe stay at it and see how you get on? It's trying to find the right dose for your body. I do Know though from having friends on this medication to that Hen you increase or decrease the dose it is common for this to happen. As I've been on the same mg my side effects and anxiety is only now decreasing but if the dose is changing the fluctuations of serotonin levels can cause what your experiencing as with one chosen mg it can take 12 weeks to work alone. The side effects are horrible but if you read some of the posts on here you'll see how common they are and they'll give you some motivation to keep going because you know it is just the medication adjusting and is so normal x
