Hi Rich, I have been on 50mg for 9 weeks now, I felt great for a short while after the initial side effects, however I am beginning to feel very lethargic and struggle to get out of bed now. I used to take them last thing at night but found they disturbed my sleep so I started taking them first thing. I've become quite forgetful so I take them at random times of the day when I remember to. I think routine is key to trying to manage the tiredness, and for me, it's taking them as early as possible. Good luck.

I take mine at about 5 in the evening fairly consistently
I just think the lethargy is a side effects - I do sleep well but wake up unrefreshed like the quality of sleep is no good
Time to get off the drug I think - can't carry on like this

I was having this discussion with my husband last night, for me the benefits outweigh the negatives so I am persevering, three weeks isn't a long time for your body to get used to them, so I would give them a few more weeks at least. I felt sick and dizzy and extremely tired for the first few weeks, but carried on and now I feel pretty great, the tiredness is bearable and I can function better than I have done for years.

Well that's good for you
I was put on sertraline due to increasing anxiety having lost my job
It's helping with the anxiety but the pay back in tiredness is too much
I will just have to force myself to get up and out but today all I can think of is crawling back into bed
Good luck

50mg didn't touch the sides for me. It's such a low level. At 6 weeks they upped my medication and again a few weeks after. I'm now on 150mg.

Hey Rich,
3weeks isn't really long enough, Don't give up yet,
live been taking this for 15 months, for the first few weeks I was walking round like a zombie and was continually on the Sertline site asking WHY WHY I was having a rough time but got told to give it time 6-8 weeks.
trustbme the sleepiness will eventually fade trust me, I most certainly wouldnt be telling you this if it wasn't true???!!!!.
its up 2 u what decision u take but this is a good drug.....,,,,,
give it till weeks 6-8 and see how u are? Seems an eternity but put some faith in this and me?!!!!!!!!!
p.s I was told by the pharmacticul the best time to take is morning at the same time each day......sooooooo I take mine 9am.
hope it wors rich 4u?
good luck.....

i started on 50 mg also after trying 4 different types of anxiety tablets. There are 5 different tablets from one family of tablets and none of the others worked I had serious side effects, u need to find the right one for you.!!!!
but after only 3 weeks you will need to give them a chance, if it continues bad for you try another type.
best wishes.

Hi Rich:
Lost my job after 15 years with the company when they closed, and being over 50 years old did not make things any easier.
Have been there more than once in the last 10 years, and know what you may be going through. That's what triggered my first panic attack. The stress is a killer if you let it win over you. You owe it to yourself to give the meds a chance to get you to a comfortable and stable place again. I know it is hard to be out there looking for work along with this magnifying everything on top of the stress. Once you can see some light at that end of this tunnel, hope that you will find yourself like I did, not really letting those stresses ruling my life.
Remember, you can always get some kind of employment doing something to meet the bills, but you will not be living if you don't get yourself well again!

Did you get another job yet and is it equivalent to your old one
I have a family so added pressure there - also worry about pensions etc
