Been suffering from fissure for over an year

Hello there,

I have been suffering a lot due to a fissure, and it's been over an year now.

It kinda heals for a few days, i.e., after taking Psyllium Husk everyday I don't feel pain, but I can always feel that the tear is still there.

And then the pain begins again in a few days, and I end up having to go on painkillers to recover.

I'm tired, tried a lot of stuff, I even apply a treatment cream (Anobliss) but nothing is working.

I really don't want a surgery, can someone please help me?

Most important thing to do is keep stools soft. Take a magnesium oxide or citrate supplement daily. Don't eat any white flour or other constipating foods. Too much fibre can cause bulky stool and too much water can cause loss of electrolytes which causes constipation. So try to balance it to what suits your body. Include flaxseed, pears, apricots, figs, mint etc in your diet

If it hasn't healed in 4-6 weeks with diet and creams, then you will most likely need the LIS. i've had it, the surgery is nothing compared the stress and pain of a fissure. so don't be worried if you need to go down the surgery route.
