Been through many withdrawals, but didn't know about Neurontin.

Hi. I have a lot of experience withdrawing from [pych meds, but I never knew the apparent dangers of gabapentin. I knew enough to cut down, but only to 300mg once at night. I only have two left and the doctor I was getting them from closed his practice without giving me a chance to get at least one refill. So, I've already had a preview with fear and anxiety. All of a sudden I"m scared of my own shadow. What I'd like to know is how to use the two best, and what am I in for. I know everyone is different. I do have clonazepam and clonidine, and trazodone for sleep. I'm wondering will all this other stuff help. I guess if it did, I wouldn't have been as scared as I was, having taken one 24 hrs earlier. It helps just sitting here writing it out. Thanks for 'listening'. If anyone has an idea how I can make this easier, please let me know.

Is obtaining a new script from a new doctor or even an urgent care a possibility? Gabapentin is not a controlled substance so it shouldnt be hard to get from a doctor if you explain the situation. Not sure where you are located so bot sure if telehealth might be an option too.

There are users on here with much more knowledge than me on the subject but i can provide my 2 cents. Your withdrawal symptoms will depend heavily on how long you have taken the drug and for how long. There are plenty of posts on the forums here that talk about the potential symptoms for withdrawal and any of them are potentially in play for you.

If you are unable or unwilling to get a new prescription you can take the gabapentin out of the capsules and divide into equal parts, to say 100 mg and take that until you run out. The risk is the imprecise method. I strongly encourage obtaining a new script to start a regimented taper if your prone to withdrawal.

Hope this helps and hang in there.
