That's really good news Weesue and I totally agree with the oestrogen to build up the lining of the vaginal wall. I had Vagifem pessaries prior to surgery and still use them 7 years later. Hopefully now you can concentrate on the wonderful day ahead of you x

Oh Weesue sorry to read this. Pessaries can cause infections unfortunately and thrush is very common but you've got lots of treatment there. I'm wondering if your vaginal wall is particularly thin as well however the replens should help build up the cells. Vagifem is very good as well (on prescription). It's reassuring though that you've got a consultant referral. Now it's time to keep busy preparing for that lovely wedding xx

That's good news. I'm considering a pessery too. Waiting to attend a specialist clinic. Like you I would like to feel more comfortable. I hope you find mi d my asking but what age are you. I'm 64 and one doctor told me that most of the pesseries that would work for me are for older ladies. That's why I'm going for a second opinion. I do t want a third surgery. I'm a very active person enjoying walking, Pilates and some gym. Is it suitable for these types of activities.

When I was waiting for my first repair surgery I had a cruise booked and was initially worried about how I would manage as my prolapse by then was pretty severe; they fitted a pessary ring that I could remove and refit myself.
It did make a huge difference and even though I was ill during day at sea and it kept coming out every time I was wrenching it did stay in the rest of the cruise and allowed me to go on four seperate trips with a fair amount of walking.
It did enable me to live a fairly normal life for a couple of months while waiting for surgery. I know of many women who have used the pessary successfully for many years, unfortunately for me my prolapse was too far gone and needed the surgery.
I'm sure you will have a lovely wedding and be able to enjoy your day and honeymoon to the full.
Phyl xx

Nothing worse than bowel not working right; I dreaded going to work incase I couldn't make it to toilet. The biggest problem was that I was dilibrately bloking myself up eating toast so I wouldn't need at work and then spending rest of week trying to soften up and clear out again while at home. I was so scared I would cough at work and the pressure would cause leakage and if too soft couldn't get wiped clean.
GP was really good and referred me immediately and only waited a few weeks and no more than 12 weeks from going to GP till had my surgery.
They are very good at prioritising if things are awfully bad.
Hopefully your problems are mainly due to infection and will not be so bad once that clears up.
X

I have severe IBS as well so prolapses are making it worse but kinds used to bad bowel but now it's all over the place I have to take so many laxatives and now suppositories as well i don't do things. In small doses lol at least I can still smile as I know there are people everyday who suffer worse than me I have squire a lot wrong and still plod along . I think after thirteen years looking after my dad who was paralised made me more. Aware that things can hopefully get better x talso my mother was very bad. With osteoporosis which I also have but I like that things will get better at least I can pray it does . That is why I smile and go in and the partner I have is amazjng
