A couple of years ago I would not have been able to even think about a 2 and a half mile walk even if it was in the beautiful countryside and all on the flat.. Before I had Max Dog I didn't even go for walks.

Then I started walking him and if I went to far he had to be walked by someone else for a few days.

Yesterday I took him for a 2 and a half mile walk round the reservoir and country park. This morning when I woke up I wondered how I was going to get out of bed and didn't get out till 9, but I got out and I am up. My legs feel rather weak and heavy but not too painful and in another couple of hours, when I have had my porridge and got dressed, I am going to take Max Dog and his best friend Buster down to the Locks, which is a lovely gentle flat walk to the canal.

It occurred to me that these are both flat walks. If I close my eyes and ponder a walk to Draycote, where is it all up and down steep hilly paths I know I wouldn't get off the ground.

What this is telling me is that improvement is very slow, but it is there, and for that I thank God and feel positive. :D

I will let you all know later how our canal walk went. It will either be here, in the positive thread or in the Grumpy old Woman thread :lol:

Well the pace was much slower than yesterday despite having 2 westies in tow instead of the usual 1.

But I've been and am still standing (or raither sitting at the pc). It was a lovely morning but it has clouded over now. Max Dog has gone to bed - perhaps he has CFS too.

It's so much easier to do things when the sun is shining isn't it?

Well done girls ......... that's the way forward :D

I walked Roxy round a huge lake this morning ........ had to keep her on the lead though cos last time she ran in and out of the fishermen's tents and in one of them, came out with a big mouthful of their bait :yuk:

So I've probably overdone it ...... but I don't care because have to make the most of this amazing sunshine. It makes such a difference to people ..... they actually smile and say 'Good Morning'

Post exercise I have started 'stretching off' like I used to do in my gym days, and that gets rid of the lactic acid in the muscles which is what causes muscle pain .... well in 'normal' people anyway  I think this does help a bit.

Mind you have just slept for two hours this afternoon ..... can't do without that .... it really does recharge my batteries :wizard:

Wind and rain back for next week .... oh, and much colder
