Being pushed into something you don’t want to do.

Hi, i know i have just put a discussion on but i need to ask one more question.

I have been to see a couple consultants now (a couple because i am new to this) and all of them keep trying to push me into counseling, but i don't feel ready to do it and i am a very shy girl so i find it hard to speak to strangers and i feel better speaking to my family.

Anyway has anyone been in this position, i keep thinking this is just me that does not want to do counseling.

Thank you

Ellie xx

You have to do things at your own pace. If you do not want counseling, that is your choice. I'd say go with that.

Speaking from experience — counseling is where the doctors and neurologists send you when they can't find out what the cause of your symptoms are. Since we aren't allowed to posts links here, might I suggest going to Youtube and cut and paste this headline:

ME/CFS Involves Brain Inflammation: Results from a Ramsay Pilot Study

You will find out you aren't crazy, delusional or anything else like that. There is some very interesting medical findings on ME/CFS by:

    Dr. Jarred Younger, Ph.D

Ramsay Award Program - 2016 Class

    Director and Associate Professor

    Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Laboratory

    University of Alabama, Birmingham

Watch all the way to the end, including the Q and A session. Hope this helps ...
