I still have it and it's coming up on a year 1st of August 2017! I did get some movement back but not all and I still get random neck ear and facial pain! They said 4-6 mo... NOT in my case!! I'm so tired of it but have to come to terms with living with it!! 😒

After 4.5 months - feeling totally frustrated with lack of ANY changes or improvements - I decided to try acupuncture. Honest to God, after the very first treatment, I COULD MOVE MY MOUTH INTO A GRIN. I stayed on for another 6 treatments so far, and I see progress within a day or two of every one of them. Look around for a good acupuncturist - ideally someone with Bell's Palsy experience. There is no studies anywhere with proof that it works...but it certainly has for me and many others. Take the chance!

I've had it for a year also (mine started Aug. 26, 2016) My face is in a 'neutral' position, which means it has improved, but is by no means gone. I do facial exercises, but I wake up every morning feeling droopy in my face. I am resolved to it not getting better.

Have you tried acupuncture? I would say I’m 99% symptom free, I occasionally get the worst eye twitches but other than that I am good.
When my Bell’s palsy came around then second time it was awful. I was in so much pain and had complete paralysis. I tried everything; hot compresses, facial massages/exercises, acupuncture etc. I went to a few acupuncture sessions. I did not see any improvement until they did electroacupunture where they hook wires up to the needles so increase stimulation. This was the first time I could actually feel movement! I could feel the electrical current like a muscle spasm in my face but it could actually move. The acupuncturist also did cupping. It was very painful but seemed to be beneficial. I did have bad bruises from it on my neck though.
I feel like I may have damaged the nerves on my face a little from doing facial massages. Under my eye in the cheek area is where I still feel tenderness. I can’t feel it all the time though.

This is my second time to have Bell's Palsy for the second time as well. No I have not tried acupuncture. I am not sure that is a possibility for me where I live.
