Hi everyone just had first injection and hoping for good things. Seems like I've tried every drug and nothing stops my inflammation. Had new hip . Knee anthsopy . Other knee needs doing now. Toom it at 2 pm and my joints seem to be hurting more at the moment. Is this possible. Does anyone else find that food makes a difference to their pain levels. Sounds silly but pork seems to set my joints off . I am so grateful to finally get this med I've been trying others for 4 years now really hopefull.

    Hi Joy

I started on benpali about 5 months ago did it for 3 months did nothing for my pain then changed to acterma injections that had serious side effects to the point where I got an upper respiratory infection and fungal infection in my throat. After 3rd injection rheummy said to stop until it cleared. Took 3 lots of antibiotics finally cleared up. Taking nothing at the moment been a month and pain is excruciating especially my feet and ankles. I started a gluten and dairy free diet hoping that will help. Back to rheummy next week see what he prescibes. Best of luck

    Dear Friend:

I live in the states so I have been on Enbrel, which is a similar type of injection. I have found it very helpful.

However, the most important question you ask concerns your diet and I can assure you that after cleaning up my diet to green smoothies every morning, no sugar, low alcohol intake, the inflammation has gone down even more. We are what we eat and it has been proven that the foods that take the body the longest to digest are the hardest on your immune system.  Try looking up simple recipes for green smoothies, with Kale, Spinach, apple, lemon, mint. Almond milk, Almond butter, flaxseed oil... you will do your body a wonder .  I hope you have continued healing.

Hi Joy, I’ve been using Benepali for over a year now and it’s worked well for me. I was on methotrexate as well but that has damaged my lungs plus I’ve had a few chest infections probably from a combination of my lowered immune system and the methotrexate lungs (which have improved though not back to baseline).  I noticed the improvement after a few days but it can take much longer.  I’m sure what we eat must have some effect but I can’t say I’ve found anything specific.  Good luck. I hope you get some relief soon. Carol

Yes, I thought I was imagining it too  but I remember taking my first injection on a Wednesday and feeling a difference on Friday. I also used Humira a couple of years before and I had a similar effect. I couldn't believe that either but I had to stop that. I sincerely hope it continues without any side effects.

Hi, The Benepali seemed to work very fast in my case, the inflammation CRP went down from about 30 to under 5 within 4 weeks, I felt good effect within a week if I recall correctly.
