Benefits and work in the UK

Hi everyone,

I have fibromyalgia and live in the UK. I receive ESA and PIP benefits and am currently doing a business admin course online with a view to maybe getting a few hours a week work if my health allows. I’ve been reading up on ‘Permitted’ work. Does anyone on here work and claim ESA? There is also a possibility that I will be transferred to Universal Credit. Does anyone else get UC and can you work as well?

Many thanks

Hi,i get PIP but had another assesment for UC it has taken 8 months and i got the letter yesterday saying we think you could do some work. Its very depressing, all my doctors letters say im too ill to work, pain clinic say im already doing too much. im not lazy, just physically exhausted. Its the house too, my husbands already working 50 hours a week.

I will appeal and go to a tribunal, i had to for PIP, the limited capability premium does not really exist that they say you can get, if they say i can only do some work, surely thats limited capability,

i feel that my human rights as an individual have been taken away by UC ,

the actually say on their website no one should be worse off on UC but we are. its another way for them to cut benefits,

dont give up trying they hope you will x
