My GP thought I had this but after seeing specialist neurologist I have just been diagnosed with generalised dystonia (similar movement disorder)

both can be heredatory. Now taking clonazepam and will be seeing neuro again next month so will find out more about condition then. Good luck with yours

what are the symptoms of generalized dystonia

My symptoms are a jerky fast tremor when muscles being used, like holding a cup, twitching muscles in left arm laying down at night and right foot when driving, reaching for pedals. Unsteadiness coming down stairs, shaky legs standing up, jaw tremor, balance probs that kind of thing. If you go onto web and search difference between dystonia and essential tremor it will be clearer. Generalised just means affecting several areas/limbs, myoclonus is muscle jerks. Hope this helps
