Benign positional paroxysmal vertigo

Hi my name is Christine and was diagnosed with bppv. My head feels dizzy all of the time but mostly when I get out of bed is when I feel the dizziest . I haven't been eating much due to being nauseous for the past two days and am hoping that with medication and exercises the doctor gave to do will start working. I'm feeling a bit down thinking that this won't go away.ive never experienced this and really don't know what to expect. I've also been feeling very tired . Is that another symptom??

It is probably the anti-nausea medication that is making you drowsy. Sounds as if you have only seen your GP. You should be assessed by a Consultant/Specialist in this field. There is a special physical manouevre that can be performed on you which was very helpful for a relative of mine. But it is important to make sure that BPPV is what you have as there are other conditions that affect the inner ear, hence the need for specialist assessment and advice. Good luck.

I've only had this condition for three days now and did go see a on call doc at the hospital. She gave me meds and I was told to do exercises for bppv . She said that the meds would help but it seems to get worse when I take it. Don't know how long it will take to get the effect I need to get rid of the nausea and dizziness ??

The only thing that relieves the dizziness is lying down and sleeping

Get yourself referred to a specialist/consultant for full tests incuding an MRI scan to eliminate other problems and ensure you have the right diagnosis.
