I just started hydroxyzine pamelate (generic for vistaril) for benzodiazapam withdrawal . Am I gonna be sorry?

    Have u read Ashton manual, beating benzos is an excellent source of info.

    if u pm me I can send a link to correct way to taper off a benzodiazepine according o Ashton prof of pharmocology as followed by drs.

      i've been on hydroxyzine for 5 months and came off them no problem was on chlordiazapoxide for 7 months came off them also no problem everyone different

      Everyone is not that much different. If it is a fact as you allege that you had no problems then u are a rare exception to the rule as You are the exception to the rule. You were on a benzo aka the drugs from hell short term compared to some poor souls. it is inadviseable to go onto another drug to allegedly ease the withdrawal process.

      I trained as nurse and have a lot of experience.

    I know everyone is different all I can say is that benzo w is very hard and taking another drug to 'ease the process is inadvisable u need to see a benzo wise dr. I am withdrawing from this discussion as it is too stressful. Please consider joining Beating benzos for expert advice. If ur wd from valium is has to be done very slowly ashton advises 10% every 2 weeks but I would advise u all to study the ashton manual

    I've been on Ativan for 5 months now..and am trying to ween off, but they , dr and her PA are trying to rush me by only giving me one more refill.. been on about 1mg the first 2 months, up to 1.5mg twice a day for the last three. I'm down to 1mg for two days in a row and then the third day my body and head, woozys....get the better of me and I take the two doses. Sucks being rushed and I havent been on them as long as most but its rough.... SO PA gave me hydroxazine too... is this even safe to take while still having a benzo in system? I took it once before on its own and all it did was leave me comatose in bed most of the day and didnt really touch my anxiety. Ummm.... I'd love to know how it goes and are you completely off the benzo now???

    It is adviseable to do a slow taper as per ashton manual, plese show a copy to yr dr
