Hi, this may be for the regulars that make it a point to help newbies to this forum like me, but I'm looking for the names of some of the best doctors in the US for:

figuring out if something is chronic bacterial prostatitis (correct method of testing, not just giving antibiotics) and also dealing with an enlarged prostrate (BPH, from 3 years ago 45cc)

I'm unable to sleep due to what I believe is a combination of both and urologists in my area are booked out and the ones I've seen are slow to do diagnostic testing. I'm at severe issues (cycling from OAB with Cialis to urinary retention when trying to go it alone). at times I get a burn in the urethra which is where the prostatitis comes in and years ago had something similar and it was called chronic prostatitis. still need to be checked for PC as well given how crazy the symptomology is but not seeing blood in urine.

It may be on here but I've read alot and haven't seen one list.

i'm 52 years old and in fairly good shape. at this rate, this thing will kill me before 65 or drive me crazy.

    hi mate. check my posts about chronic bacterial prostatitis. you will know everything you need to know. In few words - you need to do semen culture test/Stamey's test/ urethra swab. Based on results they should prepare for you sensitivity test. If you find that you are infected with Enterococcus faecalis you will need IV treatment. Do not take pills . Pointless. Other bacterias are much easier to eradicate- most of them with 6 week course of relevant antibiotics.

    Enterococcus Faecalis- Ampicyllin IV treatment for around 20 days. Then repeat tests (3 weeks after finishing IV treatment) and if Enterococcus faecalis is still there ( in lower numbers then before) you have good chance to finish it off with Vancomicine (IV treatment again for minimum 21 days. Max 28days). Before you get Vancomicine- you must check your liver and kidneys function test. Not everyone can have it.
