Sorry to bother everyone again with another question just trying to find out as much useful info as i can. I have had my gall bladder removed and suffer with regular flare ups which 95% of the time seem to stem from eating. I dont eat any red meat im a veggi can anyone please tell me what foods are best to eat? Foods that are less likely to cause a flare up? I asked my g.p. last time i was there he said dont cut anything out just eat small amounts of everything i thought are u taking the p**s excuse the language yet another said avoid fatty foods another said avoid nuts and seeds. So i was just eating salad but then another doctor said i was overloading my body with protein i dont know what to do for the best im so confused as anything i try seems to be a problem

Not sure what your flare ups are, I get a very acid stomach, my surgeon explained that this is because the bile is now going into my stomach constantly (though only a small amount) instead of only after eating fat or oily foods. That's why they tell you to eat normal foods a little but often, you actually do need to eat some fat/oil.

I find I am worse if I've been eating not enough fat, so I make sure now when I have salad I have dressing, a little oil on my pasta that sort of thing. I've also found eating a few spoons of yoghurt or a bio yoghurt drink between meals helps, even the low fat ones so long as it's live cultured yoghurt, but I have to take it often, I can skip a day but it's better if I have some at least once.

I should also say it took my digestive system a good twelve months to settle down after the op.

my flare ups seem to be as soon as the food hits my stomach it is like it is rejecting it. i start getting up abdominal pain in the centre and all pain under my ribs and down my right side. then the nausea starts really bad and the vomiting. the other day i had to rush to the toilet and it sorry to be detailed but there was blood in it. im so fed up its unreal.

Do you mean pain under the ribs when you have say "Flare Up"? I'm thinking low fat,non processed food in smaller meals is the go.

Yeah pain under my ribs and top of my stomach and pain down my right side also really bad nausea and 80 % results in me vomiting. Ive tried just sticking to salad but even that causes it. I try my best to stick to small portions. Ive cut out bread tried to avoid anything with high fat content. Cut down on dairy products dont drink coffee anymore not had any alcohol for over 12 months, no fried foods. Feel like im hitting my head against a brick wall 😔

How soon can you get in to get the surgery you require. Also try apple cider vinegar and some honey, for pain. I do not eat red meat either for the past 15 years but I am getting to much fat into my diet....just be careful of what your eating always. Good luck

My surgeon is reluctant to do any more surgeries yet as i have had 9 laproscopies already he said my body needs a rest. The last surgery i had was december 2014 to remove adhensions and a desmoid tumour which had form on the scar tissue from the surgery i had in april 2014 to remove my gall bladder. I have been trying to just eat salad but even that causes flare ups. And small portions of roast chicken and veg seems no matter what i eat it causes problems really fed up with it now 😕
