Best vehicle for RA? Need a new car.

My car is on it's last legs so I will be car shopping soon. I currently have trouble getting up out of my car as it sits fairly low to the ground and really hurts my knees. I was thinking of something a bit higher, but not so high that I trade not being able to get out with not being able to climb in. I was thinking a crossover vehicle of some type may work. Have any of you found a vehicle that is a good height? The things we have to think of... as if car shopping wasn't complicated enough. Also, I can only work part time now so nothing super expensive.

Any SUV or crossover would likely be a good height. One other thing to consider would be getting a vehicle with a push button start. Just this week my wrist started bothering me, there is no way I could start the car with my right hand now. Thankfully, one of our two vehicles is a push button.

Hi Pam, we changed our car 9 months ago for the same reason as you. Our old car was to low. As everyone has said, any SUV. We bought a Mazda CX3 and really pleased with it. Not to high and not to low. Obviously depending on your budget, but would recommend it. Good luck finding a suitable car.

I was in the same situation. Just getting a newer Corolla (a 2008 ) was much higher and the seat was adjustable than my older 1999. Also, while it didn't have a push button start, at least all the wondows and locks do,and that is a big help.
