Betmiga ( Mirabegron ) Effectiveness?

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi I was diagnosed with OAB around 4 months ago.

I had had a prostate TURP procedure and my symptoms persisted and got worse. Incontinence, constant need to urinate and painful when i did (every 10 mins). I was prescribed Betmiga and initially noticed a huge improvement. My symptoms returned to an unpleasant but manageable level. After 4 months if noticing that the symptoms are returning I am starting to need to go more frequently. It is as if my body has readjusted and the drug is losing its effectiveness. I am petrified of my problems returning to their previous state. I am 51. Has any one else out there had experience with this drug that they would care to share. Your thoughts would be most helpful.

    Hi Simon.

I suffer from very mild OAB and a few years ago had a transitional cell carcinoma removed from my bladder. I am afraid I have no experience of the drug you have been taking, but from my own experiences I can appreciate just how immensely distressing and wretched any condition like this can be, and how life-changing too. I developed ulcerative colitis some seven years ago and now have problems with both bladder and bowel control.

I feel greatly for you and both hope and pray that a successful outcome will be achieved. I was threatened with the need for 'some work on my prostate', by a locum consultant about two years ago, but to my immense relief my own disagreed and so I've been left alone with symptoms that are occasionally unpleasant but quite manageable.

    With every good wish,

    Hi Simon

Painful and frequent urination usually is a symptom of urinary tract infection (UTI). Consult an urologist you might suffer from cystitis and need urine cultivation to investigate witch antibiotic is suitable for your case.

    I wish you soon recovering.
