BF's Penis Bumps / Irritation - Please Help

Posted , 3 users are following.

These bumps have been on his penis head for a while. Near the tip. Ignore the rim, that's scarring from getting it caught in a zipper as a child.

(I've noticed for a couple weeks.) He says they don't itch or hurt, and no burning pee. You can feel them running your finger along them. The picture doesn't show it well, but they are slightly whiter than his skin and reddish at the patch they are located.

I do have HSV1 genitally (which he knows) but it doesn't seem like that. They never hurt, blister, open, pop or anything. He hasn't messed with them, but doesn't seem to me like anything is "in" them.

He does frequently (like 4 or 5 days a week) wear tight jeans without underwear, and thinks that's causing it?!

Please help.

Update: I don't know if it is because I put my phone light on it this time, but now they have a slight yellow coloring with a tiny amount of sheen? Like a scab, but not really. We also noticed a small patch on the reverse side of the head as well.

We did go dancing last night and were grinding a bit. But the one patch at least was there last week, I know for sure. The bumps feel a little rough. They are really subtle. He thinks it looks more red than this morning.

    Anyone experience anything like this?

The spot is to the left of the hole opening. I can't get a picture of how it looks now, at the moment, since I don't have it readily available 😂

But he showed me yesterday. It doesn't look worse - so that's good. And he wore underwear. Definitely still red and rough though.

The problem with the skin on the head of the penis is that unlike the skin elsewhere on the body it is very sensitive to a number of things that it is in regular contact with. As the other responder states, there is nothing 'wrong' with how the skin on the head of your BF's penis looks - this is very common. The issue is can it be prevented and can the skin on the head of the penis become more healthy, then the answer is yes - unfortunately this takes avoiding contact with certain things, and bringing about change takes a great deal of time. And here, we are most likely talking about way in excess of a year +.

Just so you have a handle on issues that cause problems for the head of the penis, first of all if your BF is circumcised the skin will dry out anyway, if he has unprotected sex the skin is very susceptible to yeast / fungal, and bacterial infections. The most common source of these are oral sex, penetrative vaginal and / or anal.

After this, the skin on the head of the penis can eventually react to contact with soap, shower gel and other forms of body wash. The thing to do here is never to apply soap, shower gel, or if he washes his hair in the shower. prevent this from draining down the body onto the penis. Wash the penis with water only, always - in the shower wash everywhere else first preventing as far as possible soap, shower gel and other body wash from reaching the head of the penis - then spend some time using the running water, and the inside of the hand to rub the skin on the penis clean. When washing only, use the fingertips to rub the head area - the other essential is that whenever the penis is wet ALL moisture needs to be removed by throughly drying the skin in the entire groin region, and of course, by paying particular attention to the skin on the entire penis.

Essentially, the skin on the head of the penis is very sensitive to many things - so for example, you mention going dancing, if there was sweat or moisture present for quite a period of time this may have irritated the skin of the head of the penis. In short, it is about learning what can be an irritant to penile skin, and particularly, for the skin on the head of the penis, then, deliberately trying to avoid these.

Change is a very time consuming thing - by preventing anything that can irritate the skin on the head of the penis you (or your BF rather) may not notice any real difference for anything between 1.5 and 3 years.

And, of course, bumps are a natural part of the make-up of the skin on the head of the penis - however, by helping the skin to become more healthier, the skin will eventually look much better.

Thank you for all this information. Because it isn't getting worse, and it is acting nothing like HSV1, I'm less worried.

Like I mentioned, he goes without underwear in jeans often. We used lube the other day and he didn't wash his penis afterward. At my house, he uses this really scented bar soap to clean it, which might be the issue too. (I don't use that bar soap specifically because it gave me vagina problems in the past.)

The best way to describe it now is that it distinctly feels rough-bumpy. Not like when you rub your fingers over bumpy skin and are like "whoa its bumpy." It could be super mild callus or just dry irritation, I guess. The only reason I'm still slightly worried is that it started out looking white from within? The picture really doesn't show it well.

Healthy penile skin, particularly the skin on the head of the penis and soap or any other form of body wash do not go together. They are best avoided completely and simply use water and rubbing with the inside of the hand or fingertips to clean using running water.

As I explained there are little lumps and bumps that are naturally present on the head of the penis, they are always going to be there, only they will be more noticeable when they are irritated, such as following sex or masturbation = any chemical the skin is in contact with, either natural or otherwise, times by the amount of friction that is taking place at the same time.

Your comment about " looking white from within " is something that needs to be monitored regularly to see whether this worsens or not - I would suggest looking at it in strong natural light if possible .......

Update: This portion, around the side and the back of the head are flaking. Underneath the flakes it looks normal, but turns a little red after sex (probably because it's new skin). He said still no pain or anything. I'm thinking it was a little callus. Thanks all!
