I've heard HRT can help but I'm hesitant. Anyone else have thoughts on HRT and weight loss?

Thanks Mee. If you don't mind, how old are you, and how soon after meno did you start our HRT?

i'm 51. Menopause started at 50 and I started HRT after six months. For me it was not gradual. My libido skyrocketed the last year before menopause. My hormones were crazy and all i could think of was sex. But the month after my periods stopped (it stopped suddenly, no gradual winding down) the libido dropped to subzero! I felt absolutely nothing. And my tummy kept growing at an alarming rate (it had already become disproportionately large in the last three years prior to menopause) Then I started HRT. Things are so much better though libido nowhere close to what it was before. Exercise really helped after starting HRT. Metabolic rate seems to be higher as i find it easier to lose weight and tummy is now muscular and flat except a small pouchy feeling as the skin on top has always been a bit loose after two Cesarean deliveries back to back, twenty years ago. I was 65 kgs before starting HRT and now down to 52. I can fit into my daughter's dresses.
