Previously had high cholesterol and very high tri-glycerides since 2012. I've now been prescrive finofibrates which I’ve used most days for about 2 months. Other changes is i've started a low carb diets, lots of eggs, lean meats & some veg (not much fruit sad  Lastly I viewed another post where they had cut out the wheat from their diet, thus bread reduction and have swapped to wholemeal..

I’m 47 (5'9 and weigh 12.4 stone) and found out i had high cholesterol at around 5.6 (nothing too drastic) , but triglycerides were initially 12.9 (1124 US), over time i've got them down to around 4.4 and now the latest test put them up to 6.6 (around 580),

***latest results

Cholesterol 4.3 mmol/l (Big reduction) , HDL 115 mmo/l, triglycerides 2.0 mmo/l (BIG reduction) LDL 2.2 mml/o

I think the fibrates have helped take down the triglycerides but can't help thinking reducing wheat and carbs has helped a lot. I’ve lost 4lbs as well thus down to 12 stone smile Normally fibrates can reduce Triglycerides by up to 50%, mine had dropped 70% and I’ve not cut any alcohol out

Give the low carb thing a go and cut the bread out I’m sure it helps!

Well done Wayne. I had similar success by eating a more Mediterranean diet with olI'v
