Bilateral Hip Replacement

Hi Folks

I have just had my yearly check up (my op was 19th Jan 2016) and was told that I am completely recovered (which I knew). I am so so grateful that my wonderful surgeon did bilateral surgery rather thn one hip then six months later the other. My recovery wasn't too bad either.

Thank you to everyone for your advice as I was so scared really grateful folks. So good to be pain free and walking normally.

Ann

    Dear Ann

Great news. That should help give some confidence to members who have some uncertainty about having the surgery.

Well done that's good news. You were lucky to have an annual review. I had my RTHR 3rd January 2017 and things have been great. I went for my 6 months check up(which actually happened at 8 months). This was with a physio and not the consultant. I was told everything looked good so just go and enjoy my new hip for the next 20 years, I didn't need to be seen again!!

That's fantastic news. I've just dipped into this site today. I haven't been on this particular forum in about a year & a half. You were very brave to go bilateral. I had right hip done September 2015 & left hip done January  2016. I have never looked back. I've been on 3/4 holidays since my recovery & have walked & done all the sightseeing I couldn't have done for last 6/7 years. Keep up the good work & enjoy life.

    Best wishes & take care

Thanks Ann for the update, I would have loved to have had bilateral but count my lucky stars that I had a good consultant. for my first one. I'm down for the next one being done sometime in the next 4 months. Good luck to you.
