Bilateral shoulder pain

Hi. First time poster here. I am a 35 year old female who is normally fit and well. However for the past 4 months or so I have been getting excruciating pain in my upper back area, involving both shoulders. This pain occurs when I move around and move my arms a lot. It is much worse at work, and when I am at home (albeit not moving around too much) it tends to go away, just leaving a dull ache. Even when I am at work, it also tends to feel much better each night after resting/sleeping. When it is at its worst I cannot lie on my side at all as the pain is too bad.

I self referred to Physio, and after multiple telephone appointments and one face-to-face (although annoyingly when I went the pain was not so bad) they have said that my pain "doesn't fit any pattern that they know" and have referred me back to the GP. Was just wondering if anyone has had symptoms similar to this, and what further investigations you might have had? Its really starting to get me down now 😟
