Biopsy results not clear after colonoscopy

Hello

i have got back my biopsy results and it says they cant tell whether its infection or inflammation? i asked my gp what that meant and he said that they will discuss this at my outpatients appointment. does anyone know what happens if biopsy results arent clear? will they have to another colonoscopy. They have said its ulcerative colitis proctitis.

    Proctitis can be caused by infection or IBD ie inflammation from UC.. Biopsies taken should confirm which. My UC started as proctitis and then spread up to colitis over an eight year period.
