Biopsy site

I've been rather distressed yesterday and today. I've had an awful aching sore feeling from where my skin biopsy was taken 2 months ago. I must have rubbed/massaged my creams in too much and have caused myself grief. The actual area of the biopsy is a little red but nothing too alarming. Now I'm left with a throbbing aching sensation from the wound area. Does anyone know how I can help the pain? Not touching the area so much may be a start.. sad

Hi Jules, Following my biopsie l was told to just put on vaseline for 3 months , my skin was red raw with angry lumps , l did not think much of this advice but l followed it and now my skim looks better than its done in years l am amazed . I think it must be that the skin as had enough of clob etc and needs to have a rest from it . I returned to the vulver consultant and she said to continue with the vaseline and only use the clob if the LS flared up and then only on the area affected and only use the tiniest amount of ointment . This is my story l hope its of help to you , your skin like mine may just have had enough and needs a rest . Take care x

Thanks for the reply Winifred. Did you not use steroids after your biopsy for the LS? I stopped my steroids a week ago after applying it daily for two months to get the LS under control (I question whether I have in fact done that, though my doctor seems to think so after examining my vulva) I now apply it once a week, I'll do this until I meet with a new specialist in 3 weeks.

I do agree when you say sometimes the skin needs a rest. Prior to beginning treatment I was asymptomatic. Ever since I started treatment I have never felt the same, my vulva is sensitive, the skin is sensitive, even exercising isn't enjoyable, I get all hot and burny. I wonder whether all this would have happened regardless of starting treatment or not. It's been miserable to say the least.

Hi Jules , l used the clob for 5years before the biopsie , l was diagnosed without a biopsie and only had one because my L S went suddenly out of control . My LS bothers me in hot weather and l dont like sitting on hard chairs for long l am currently worrying about a 4 hour car journey l am about to go on . I haven,t worn trousers for a while now which is a pity because lve always loved them l have wondered if all those tight jeans lve worn over the years contributed to my problems l rather think they did. Living with LS is not easy but it is possible you just have to think everything through before you do anything. I hope your LS calms down l know how it feels when you can,t even think straight because of it . Go back to your docter if you dont improve . Best wishes x

I like to contribute my two cents worth to this conversation - what about baking soda baths and rinses?  What about coconut oil or emu oil?  Are you using any of these items?  They are healers.

Furthermore - Have you looked at what you are eating, your diet?  Sorry for all the questions.
