Biopsy today !!!!!

Hi. I am new to this and would like advise please. I had a negative blood test for celiac disease but am anemic. Today however I am having a biopsy done to rule out celiac. I am terrible worried about it all. My Dad is celiac but tge only symptoms I have are anemia, bloating, nausea and low mood swings.

Can someone give me advise....do I need the test after a negative blood test

Thanks......

    Hi Mandy

Yes definitely, I had negative results with blood tests and only a biopsy provided the result. I know I'm a little late so I hope it went well :-)

Make sure you follow up with your doctors as they forgot to tell me my results!

But knowing is far better than not.....

I have been reading loads... I am waiting results of my blood tests..If they are negative I still want a biopsy done... As sometimes the blood test is not alwaus correct and can be negative but yet the biopsy proves otherwise.. Can I ask how long it took from your doctor referring you to actually getting the biopsy date confirmed please? X Michaela

      Hi

I had an appt at the anemia clinic very soon after my blood test and was given an appt for the biopsy two weeks later. All done very quick so just waiting with fingers crossed that all is ok. My Dad is a celiac so I wont be suprised if I have it.

I hope you get your biopsy done soon. The procedure is very quick.

      keep me posted.
