Bisoporol Friends!

I've been taking Bisoporol for a year and half for palpitations. 5mg daily. During this entire time, I've had severe nasal congestion. 0% air going in through the nose at times. It's effected my eyes also, watering constantly.

I've assumed it was the Bisoporol causing this, so 7 days ago after tapering off I stopped taking it. However, congestion is still as bad as ever.

So two questions.

1. How long would it take for congestion to go after stopping?

2. Has anyone else had this side effect and found another beta blocker that doesn't cause it?

Many thanks

I can't help with your question but can I ask how you tapered off your tablets.  Thanks

    Hi Rebecca

Yes l have the same horrible side effects you are getting. Nasal blockage and constantly watering eyes. I didn't think it was the Bisoprolol actually because I'm also on blood pressure tablets and assumed it was these causing the problem. I am on 1.25mg Bisoprolol, been on them for 1yr and 5 months for a rapid heartrate/palpitations. I hate them and am trying to taper off them very slowly but its a long job. How did you just do it over 7 days? Are you not suffering any consequences or have you got something else to keep your palps under control? Please let me know how you manage as am not sure l could just come off them so quickly. And to answer your question, l would think it will take a while for all the horrible side effects to go. I wish you well and hope things improve soon.
