Bisoprolol 1.25

Hi guys
I've been non Bisoprolol 1.25 since December 2017 for fast heart (148,) , then briefly on 2.5mg for missed beats now back on 1 25.
Tried to come off them but after 2 days heart rate was up again to 126 🙄
Just want to come off them as no energy, tired all the time etc.
Specialist has prescribed Verapamil 40mg twice a day for two weeks then use as a "pill in the pocket" in case of fast heart again.
Anyone else out there had Verapamil?
Or shoukd I just cut to going on Bisoprolol every other day?
Any help much appreciated.
Never felt so sluggish I all my life
Never had any previous problems and been checked, all ok. Possible menopause or stress.
Cheers xx

I am not a fan of bisoprolol. My hubby was prescribed it after a heart attack in april this year, between 6 - 8 weeks after starting he developed every side effect possible, he was so ill.
Bisoprolol caused him to have ectopic heart beat, the doctors say no but it started with all the other side effects which were dizziness, shortness of breath, diarrhea, loss of balance, coughing.
When he stopped taking it his blood pressure was all over the place which happens apparently, very high, very low but it did settle after a 2/3 weeks.
I think this drug is dangerous and should be taken off the market but, that will not happen. You have to decide how you feel about taking this tablet and make your decsion on that basis.

Trace, I had to wean off twice from Bisoprolol.
I didn't make it the first time.
I have wrote about this on lots of other topics on this forum.
Anyway, you can die from a withdrawal, in some cases.
So, my advice: cut your doses weekly or when you will feel fine.
For example:
1,25 first week
Then 1,10 2nd week
Then 1,00 when you will feel better
I weaned off this way, but it took me around 8 Months and it was still a hell.
When I tried to wean off fast (2 Months), I ended at ER 2 times and had to go back on drugs.
During weaning off, drink a lot of water.
I was even taking low doses of Valium because it will calm your brain, who is currently crazy due to a withdrawal.
What can you expect during a withdrawal:
Elavated HR all the time, for no reason.
Huge anxiety for no reason.
Dizziness, troubles with breathing, headaches, nausea, pain in random body parts etc.
In the beginning, the worst part will be elevated HR.
Once when it will settle down, anxiety will stick with you for Months.
I am now 19 Months off drugs and I would say that I am 90% normal considering anxiety.
I don't know whether I will ever be 100% normal again.
I started to watch horror movies again now, after 19 Months.
Till now it was impossible.
I would just get too excited while watching scary movies or sports and similar.
But, please check some older topics in this forum, we have wrote 100s of posts about a withdrawal and everything.
Good luck and feel free to ask if you'll need anything.

Hi Bob thank you so so much for your response. I seriously hate these tablets.
So, how do i cut them into what you've said? They are so very small.
Really appreciate your help.
Glad you're 90% there. xx
