I cant say if there's a difference between Bisop, and Bisop fumerate, but I was stupid enough to take 1.25mg daily for a year. It seemed I was only half-alive and no better for it - I STILL had occasional AF. Gps looked right through me when I eventually mentioned the side-effects, sent me home thinking I was nuts.
I didn't ask permission to stop them. Didnt believe they couldnt be stopped straight away either.
If a medication significanly reduces your quality of life, demand something else 'til you find what HELPS your condition. I had my 17-year-old son to consider, apart from myself.
Best wishes,
James

My BP has been normal now for all this time, so I'm well pleased as felt it was getting out of control at times, and I do suffer from anxiety occassionally.I have decided any feelings of tiredness and occasional nausea that may be contributed to Bisoprolol, I can cope. The worry of having uncontrollable BP was far greater.
I since taken up yoga and Pilates and go to classes regularly, and I feel more in control of my life, and if I am exceptionally tired I take a nap, or go to bed early and not fight the tiredness, I try and keep positve most of the time. I have also since cut down on my wheat products and using lactose free milk, and the nausea has stopped, it may or not been a contributing factor, but do feel less bloated which in turn alleviates the nausea. May or may not be relevant, but I feel that it may have played a part in how I was feeling. Hope this may of been some help. Good luck Liz x
