Bisoprolol - no side effects yet

I've been looking through this and wondering whether (a) only people with side effects post, (b) whether this is therefore a balanced view on Bisopropol and (c) whether this may scare people off taking something that might help.
If only 5% of people suffer symptoms, and 25% of them post here, it is still likely that close to 90% of these comments could be negative.
I'm not disputing these people have symptoms, just saying that this is only one point of view and this board may not be the whole picture.
My experience? Was diagnosed with heart arrythmia. 2.5mg of Bisoprolol per day over the last two months so far has not had any bad side effects, but my BP and heart rate is much more stable now and I don't wake up in the night with my heart feeling like it is about to burst.
So far, so good. Will be sure to post again if I do get any untoward symptoms.

I first started taking Perindopril 3 years ago for hypertension, and have now also started taking (6 weeks ago) Bisoprolol 2.5mg daily for paroxysmal Afib. Both times I was first prescribed these drugs, I collected my prescription, and then ignored it for about 10 days and tried to forget the fact that I was likely going to have to take these medications for the rest of my life. It is a huge, huge adjustment, and my thoughts are with everyone in the same situation.
And yes, I have some side effects, and in some ways I feel like I have *lost* forever the person I was, and I am fundamentally changed in some way from now on. Sometimes this is a real change - I hardly drink alcohol any more, and I don't have the energy to dance around the living room as much as I used to! I often have freezing and numb fingers and toes, my hair is going a bit thin in places, and I will never have the same deep, dreamless night's sleep I used to relish!
BUT...my blood pressure is much healthier, so hopefully I won't have a stroke, and my heart beat is slower and less irregular, so hopefully I'll see my grand children grow up. I'm 60 next birthday and have to face I'm not a dolly bird any more. Good luck to all of you, stick with the pills if you possibly can, and stay young and healthy in spirit at least. Getting older really SUCKS, but it's better then the alternative!

I have had a few 'side effects' but not many. I always thought that palps and pain was normal though until I had my BP checked at an ASDA chemist because I looked pale and it was 70/40 pulse over 200, no being rushed into hospital or anything! Then came the diagnosis of SVT.
People rarely write about positive experiences with anything though do they! We're a negative species really!
