Bit annoyed

2 years a go I had endoscopy and was told my Oesophagus was inflammed, given Omeprazole which I took when ever I felt gurgley, no other symptoms and no follow up and did not feel the need for any more tablets.  This week I received a letter for Endoscopy, I thought it was a mistake, spoke to the hospital who said I had BE!  This has never been mentioned to me ever, not happy.  GP rang me and apologised, the doctor has since left the practice.  She said Barratts was a bit more serious than an inflammed Oesophagus and wanted to get me on Omeprazole now and said I should have been on these for the past 2 years!  The Doctor wanted to know, what I know about Barratts, I replied I had a crash course on the web this morning!  Anyway I am here, what should I know?  the doctor had nothing on record of the size??  Is this something I should know?  Sorry for all the questions but I need to take control of this situation and ensure I receive a copy of all test results, so any help would be much appreiciated.
