Black spot on my toe.. what could it be?

Hi everyone! About a month ago a notices a small black dot appear on my third toe, its got a bit darker but i wouldnt say much bigger. It isnt raised like a blister but it isnt completley under the skin like a flat mole, its not painful, although a few weeks ago i did try to sqeeze it as i thought it was a big blackhead! i dont think it is though.. anyone had anything similar? thanks.

    I'm assuming you mean on the top of your toe and not underneath? If your feet are in the sun a lot then its a good idea to get this checked out.   Many people forget to put an SPF on their feet.  Suspicious moles usually have ragged edges and may weep or be itchy but this is not always the case. Do get it checked.

      Hey! yes it is on top of my toe, its strange as its not conpletley under my skin but its not completley risen! thanks for your help

    Hi Brooke, without a picture it is hard to guess what it could be.  I belong to a melanoma patient group and their advice is: keep an eye on the mole and check for any changes in shape, size, or colour, etc.  If there are any then go and see your doctor promptly and if still worried ask for referral to dermatologist.  Or you could make an appointment and see your GP now just for peace of mind?
