Bladder Control Issues

I guess I've had bladder control problems as long as I can remember, but I've only recently thought that it might not be within my physical control to stop it.

I tend to leak at urine at times when I'm standing, even if I don't need to pee and I get times where I get a sudden urge to pee. I often (2 or more times a week) get up in the morning, around 3AM, needing to pee. I sneeze pee and pee a lot when I laugh. There are times when I really want to pee, and almost nothing comes out, or it hurts to come out.

Since I'm under twenty, I'm worried about what's going on with my body and what I can do. It's hard to find out what's going on, because all the things I've googled are for older people. Does anyone know what I should do and what could be going on?

Hi, I would suggest you to go to a doctor and explain your symptoms. The next step would be a urologist though.

Agree you need to talk it over with your gp, who might refer you to a urologist if they dont know the cause.  Pain when passing urine is often associated with cytitus, bacterial,  or intersticial cystitus, inflamation, but could be other reasons. The cystitus and overactive bladder foundation have a web site and mbs with lots of info, and advice, and suprisingly there are a lot of young women who post on the site with simular problems, teens even. Most probs can be helped with meds and advice.

Thanks for the help. I've had the courage to admit my problems to a friend and my sister (having bladder problems at such a young age isn't always the easier thing to talk about.) I'm going to book an appointment tomorrow, and it should hopefully help me find out what's wrong, and what I can do about it.

l understand, even when older its not a good thing to deal with or talk to people about, plumbing probs generally private, but worse if young, good youve someone you can talk with, good luck

Doctors op is on Friday, after school.

Hopefully I'll get something out of it smile

I agree you need referral meanwhile you could  try oxybutinin.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to buy this medication, or the courage to tell my parents about it until I know what's going on, so they can't buy it either.
