Bladder incontinence can anyone offer helpful advice?

Hi, I'm 60 in a couple of months time but feel young for my age. I've been told I have a low capacity bladder but didn't go into it very much with the hospital staff at the time as had so many problems with my prolapsed bowel I felt overwhelmed to be honest. I'm prone to infections, cystitus thrush and the like and the doctor keeps throwing anti biotics at it but these make me feel rough and have side effects but he maintains its the cause of the incontinence. If I cough, or walk about or even sittting on my sofa bed there are invariable leeks, often substantial and it is unpleasant for me and I don't know which way to turn. Should I accept that this is just an unfortunate feature of growing older or really get to grips with my GP as I feel there may well be causes other than the usual run of the mill infections. Can anyone help?
