Bladder issues

A couple of months ago I had what I thought was a UTI. Doctor gave me a course of antibiotics but these didn't help. Sent a urine sample off and result came back all clear no action required. I have also developed a sudden strong urge to wee and can't hold on and sometimes leak before i get there. I am 50 so am wondering if this could be due to menopause or something else, I have health anxiety so am terrified this might be something more sinister.

Go see your gyno and get checked but it sounds like typical meno symptoms. Our bladders depend on estrogen and when that starts to deplete we get these terrible effects. Your pelvic floor sounds like it needs strengthening. Google pelvic floor exercises and the correct way to do kegel exercises. I went to pelvic floor physical therapy and continue to do my exercises and the leakage has all but stopped. You need to also re-train your bladder. Don't give into the urge for just a squirt, try to hold it until its a full bladder but not bursting. While re training you may have to wear panty liner. But I'd definitely see your gyno and get his/her guidance.

    Good luck!
