Bladder Neck Incision experience

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had a bladder neck incision a few years ago and still have a near constant urge to pee combined with the feeling that I will wet myself. My urologist says that these sensations are psychosomatic.

I want to hear from other people who have had a bladder neck incision, did ot clear up your issues? Did your urinary habits and sensations return to normal?

Any reassurance would be greatly received!

    Hello Jack

After having some spasms for a short while and the usual passing of blood for a few weeks things setteled down and returned to normal for me. But gradually over the next few months my flow got weaker and I was finding it more difficult to self catheterise, which I have to do four times a day as my bladder does not fully empty. As I was still under the the hospital/urology dept I contacted my consultants secretary and requested an appointment with my consultant or one of his team who suggested having a Cystoscopy. Following the Cystoscopy back in March it revealed my bladder neck had closed considerably, so much so that the doctor stopped the procedure. Probable cause was scar tissue. I'm back into hospital this Monday (24th) for another BNI. Fingers crossed it fixes it this time.

If you haven't already had one Jack I would request a Cystoscopy so that at least any issues internally can be ruled out. If you haven't been discahrged from the hospital this can be organised either by contacting the specialist nurse on the urology dept who can arrange this for you if she thinks it is the best way forward or seeing your own doctor who can arrange an appointment with your consultant where you can discuss this with him.

Thanks for the reply Cat Man,

Are you saying that the operation improved your symptoms, aside from the renarrowing?
