I had a uti begining of may did not go to the GP for a few weeks. Finally treated with antibiotics, but have had an urge to wee ever since urine test always come back negative. Do not have any leaking just urge, doing bladder training and pelvic floor exercises have urology appontment next month. I am nearly 54 so could it be caused by the menopause anyone else have these symptoms and how to reiieve them.

Feeling depressed all the time.

I suggest you immediately start taking probiotics, especially since you have already had so much antibiotic. It sounds silly but the antibiotics kill the good bacteria along with the bad. So it's very hard for everything to normalize again. Also drink a bottle of kombucha a day(you should start getting immediate results)they sell it in the refrigerated area usually for health. It doesn't taste the best but does wonders. If the pain is very severe I would suggest also taking Azo until the probiotics have had time to help. If you do not have access to this or you must order it then you can drink 8 oz of water with 1 tsp of baking soda. It will relieve some of the pain.

I know how you feel.  I have suffered with vaginal dryness, OAB and recurrent UTI for years.  Seen gynaecologist few months ago and also urologist as sometimes urine problems can be made worse by vaginal dryness. Gynaecologist prescribed Vagifem for dryness, urologist did a cystoscopy which was clear, he prescribed Mirabegron for OAB and Cefalexin for recurrent UTI to try and settle things down. In two weeks I was a new woman and had my life back. Now 6 weeks later symptoms are like something pressing down making we feel I need to wee all the time but I can wait several hours before going and no pain.  Like you urine test is negative so I am back to feeling hopeless and depressed.  I have a review with urologist next month so I will have to see what he suggests, in the meantime I have submitted a post for help and advice.

I think your symptoms could be linked to the menopause but you need to go to the doctor and get checked out and get referred if necessary.

Hopefully there will be a simple explanation and treatment for your problem and you will soon be feeling a lot better.

    Take care of yourself.
