Bladder prolapse (mesh)

Has anyone had a vaginal mesh to repair a bladder prolapse.  Mine was fitted in 2014 and now causing me real problems.  In the New Year I have to see a specialist in Harley Street - not sure what can be done, the removal terrifies me. Has anyone had a mesh removed

    Hi Christine,

I had TVT procedure which uses a small amount of mesh for bladder incontinence is that what you mean or was it for an actual bladder prolapse? What are your problems now?

Mine was a bladder prolapse following a vacuum hysterectomy.  I always felt this procedure would move things!!! and it did.  My problem now is discomfort the whole time i am on my feet, feet up I cant feel much, its a lump with a stinging feeling, and small shows of blood, if I do too much.  I have had five bladder infections on the trot, but have blood in urine even if I have no signs of infection.  Im 62 and feel it needs sorting now before Im much older, but I not sure if I can go through more surgery up there!

Ive got mesh for anterior prolapse with stress incontinence. Can you divulge your symptoms of problems? Mine was done 2yrs ago. Removals here in NZ have been achieved but just take quite a while in surgery - 6hrs. The problems from mesh range from incorrect insertion (sometimes too tight) to body rejection.

omg six hours.  Still this mesh has been settling in for four years now, so well and truly part of me.  My symptoms are a lump inside on left, which is worse if im on my feet.  I get slight blood staining most of the time, can need to wee more often, a heavy feeling, but no incontinence but I assume this will come,  I just want to feel normal  again

Christine I am 15months post tvt and have had vaginal pain since op especially on lifting and now feel jagged inside uncomfortable and have burning pain. Dr thinks she can feel mesh and she shouldn’t. I’m considering complete removal and asking on his forum for advice on recovery and resultant continence levels.

Was wondering if your mesh synthetic or from Pigs bladder. ( ACell) that's what mine was. I have a bladder sling, plus prolapse bladder and recetele repair using ACell.

Not much help with your question. I'm just having some pain, year and half latter. Feels like something inside on my left below rib cage.  Haven't went back to see what it is.

omg no idea what mine was, but it was explained like yours a sling, Im shocked you are saying you have in your rib cage???? All my problems are in the vagina.  Stinging, lump, blood, etc

I'm sure that pain below rib cage has nothing to do with anything vaginal. It's way too far away with all your major organs between.
