Bladder spasms/anxiety

Hi, i am 41 in good health i suffer from anxiety. i often get tingling, pins needles, tight chest, sweats etc. i take propanalol 50mg for this. I have suffered this for 3 years. I have a major problem where i feel the need to urinate a lot. I wake up 3/4 times a night to urinate. I have a feeling of a full bladder when i go the toilet i urinate but no much each time. I have had lots of tests on my bladder at the hospital all show it is fine. They seem to suggest it is the anxiety doing this. It happens all day and night. However i have noticed if my mind is distracted in certain settings for example if i am really busy at work it doesn't happen so this suggests it is something to do with my mind otherwise it would always do it. Can anyone reccomend anything? change of medication? i have councelling booked for December.
Thank you

glad you are going to counseling in December. It will help you sort all of this out and also help you to understand anxiety a bit more. It’s amazing what our thoughts can do. Try to relax your mind as much as you can. at least once a day make it a point to stop everything, sit down or lay down and do some breathing for anxiety. if you get a thought that is negative, don’t get upset simply let it float on by. The more you practice this the more your mind will automatically do that. you will probably learn a lot about this in counseling. but there are many great meditations for anxiety on YouTube that would help to relax your mind. I do this every night before falling asleep and once during the day.
just always remind yourself that your testing was normal and this is going on most likely because of the anxiety. So once you learn how to manage it things should improve. But don’t give up counseling after one or two sessions. It’s important to keep going for a while until you really feel everything is under control.
you could also talk to your doctor about your medication. Maybe he or she could make adjustments. You’re going to be OK. I know it’s difficult right now but hang in there and just take one day at a time. take care

I literally have the exact same problem, everything you've wrote is my exact same symptoms. and of course having anxiety I've made myself think I've got ovarian cancer. but like yourself soon as I'm distracted I'm absolutely fine. otherwise I'm constantly urinating.
