Bladder spasms same time every month

for the past 8 months I have been having severely painful bladder spasms the same time every month. I had Botox injections a year ago and less than a month ago. I see a urologist for IC but I find it strange about the pattern it usually only lasts two days then doesn't come back till the next month. I also sawmy  gynecologist and was to,d it was my bladder. I am on the pill that is a 3 month cycle. Any thoughts? Please help. I cant find anything that explains the pattern.

Can you explain what the spasms feel like? I have thought it felt as if I had a spasm before, but I honestly dont know for sure how they feel. Thanks

well with having ic it feels like my bladder is on fire. Like I hot knife stabs me then ignites the whole bladder. It's intense pain that usually lasts between 15-45 mins. I feel like I need to urinate bad and if I push it feels better till I stop so I try not to push after I know it's empty. It hurts worse but it doesn't seem to last as long. Mine only last 2 days

is it connected to menustration. l had severe ic symptoms of pain for years before diagnoses, The pattern was severe the week after menustrating and that was heavy flooding, then moderate to severe for a week or two and best week before, Maybe pressure of heavy blood in uterus against the bladder, but could be hormonal. you could check the c.o.b.. site as they specialise in bladder probs, have a forum and advice line. hope they can advice you.

That's the only thing I could think of but with the birth control I'm on I only have my period every three months. I've been diagnosed ic since 2011 and haven't had the spasms until May. I've also been on the same birth control for the past 10 years. So idk it's strange to me. My urologist just blames the ic. If that's it I find it strange it just started. I guess it could just be progressing. I was diagnosed at 21 so maybe just getting worse. sad But thank you for your reply I'll check with them.

For women!!! I had bladder pain for almost 20 years. Because of former bladder and kidney problems (as a child), I was told my bladder pain was due to everything from surgical adhesions to IC. Sex was terribly painful and I suffered for years -- even while going to every specialist available. I kept telling doctors that the only time I was pain-free was during pregnancy, so they chalked that up to hormonal changes -- again still saying that was associated with everything but the real reason. The real reason turned out to be that I have an extreme allergy to Nonoxynol-9. Even the smallest amount on condoms or the gels, or whatever it is on. Exposure once would put me in pain for days and days. Please ladies, if you are having bladder pain, please check if you are being exposed to Nonoxynol-9!
