Hi, just had c t scan showing 3 bladder stones, and 1 kidney stone in left kidney.

It's my second kidney stone in 12 months, but my first time having bladder stones.

what is bladder stones recovery like, is a catheter put in.

The kidney one is only 5mm this time, but as its giving pain they said its best to remove it same time as bladder stones.

After my bladder stones were surgically removed, I had a Foley catheter in for a few days. This experience caused me to consider some prostate treatment options and I had the Rezum procedure almost 6 years ago. No bladder stones since.

Is your symptom improvement still good after 6 years Rezum?

Yes, good enough. IPSS is currently 9. I was slipping a bit last year and thought I was headed for a Rezum redo since I was up 5 times a night. However, my local urologist put me on Alfuzosin last September. No side effects and one 10mg pill in the evening has gotten me back to waking 2 times a night. Not perfect, but doable.

Did you take the Alfuzosin before the Rezum therapy? Is there ant difference in your symptom improvement by taking the medication before the Rezum therapy and resuming the medication after the procedure?

No, Alfluzosin was a new medication. Tried Tamsulosin (didn't work well) and Rapaflo (caused RE) before Rezum. Selected Rezum as a lower risk mechanical fix. Hopefully the Alfuzosin will extend the Rezum benefits for a while.

Your Rezum case (prostate size 52 cc) is good. Is there any impact on the sextual function after the Rezum therapy or no change at all, by the way?

I abstained for 21 days after the procedure. First attempt was maybe 25% of normal feeling. Ejaculate was brownish; I assume because there was some blood in it. Things got steadily better until it was back to pre-Rezum sensation at about day 60. It's been at the normal pre-Rezum level since then.
