hello everyone, my stool showed blastocystitis hominous parasite and i have andominal discomfort, heartburn, and gas please help does anyone know about this ???

Have you done your research on Blastocystis hominis? I went through a stage last year of being so paranoid of parasites - which is why I joined this site - but I got my stool tested multiple times, and the first time it came back positive as blastocystis hominis. Wow that's hard to write.
I know everyone here hates doctors, but I've always trusted mine and I've never had a poor experience. When she called to tell me I had this "parasite," I immediately scoured the web to find any information I could on it. Turns out nobody really knows what it is, but there is no evidence to prove it does any harm. Some experts actually think it may be naturally-occuring in our bodies, and some people have higher levels than others. However, it subsides on its own and you do not need any treatment for it to resolve. I got another test 2 weeks after my first, and it came back totally clear.
I seriously wouldn't worry about it. If your symptoms keep bothering you, I'd bet you it's just something you ate or regularly eat, not this mystery parasite. I would also invest in a water filter if you're that worried about it - it's possible to get the parasite from contaminated water (but, again, nobody really knows). It's easy for us to blame all of our medical problems on something we can't see or understand. Don't lose your mind and get a doctor who you can trust and talk to.

hey thabk you for your reply, i am scared out of my mind as i have symptoms and all my other tests have came back clear other then this one my doctor presecibed antibiotics but i do not want to take them as my stomach issues started after being on antibiotics, did you have any symptoms assocaited with it when it showed up in ur stool test ?

You sound exactly like I did, and i know i cant talk you out of your fears. do a bit of reading to ease your mind - truly, it's not a harmful parasite and it is actually weirdly common. i did have symptoms - for me i just noticed that i was constipated, and when i could go it was much looser than normal, which was very unusual for me because i'm always regular with that sort of thing. i do recall some abdominal pain, but i'm positive that was a result of constipation. i didn't take any antibiotics or medication, and it subsided on its own.
our bodies are amazing things. don't make yourself feel physically worse with all your anxiety. get some rest and call your doctor with questions. hope this helps.

I have also been diognosed with blastocystis hominis and doctors prescribed antibiotics for 10 days - apparently not a good idea - but like most of us we think doctors are infallible and trust their judgement
I have abdominal discomfort, diarrhea constipation no energy and cant put on weight I suspect I have had it for a long time Had another test last week and the blasto bug is still alive and well so guess I will have to embark on natural remedys - loads of stuff on internet - very common parasite. Some people have it for years. What did your doctor suggest?
