bleeding after a smear test

I haven't had a period for 15 months, went for my smear test last week & was told "there is a little bleed" - is this normal? Don't ever recall bleeding after a smear test in the past.

A little bleeding after a smear test is quite normal for lots of different reasons. This is more likely if you are taking the contraceptive pill, but can happen even if you are not. If you're still bleeding now or have bleeding after sex then you need to see your GP.

Hi. I don't usually bleed much after a smeer test, but I have the last two occasions quite heavily. I think they changed the equipment a few years ago and this might be pehaps more abrasive and therefore more irritating, causing a bleed.

Anyway, like I said. I bled after my latest smeer which was 1 week ago today. I bled a little until the next day. Then it stopped. But exactly 1 week after the test, I bled again (today). It seems to have stopped now, but it's odd that I should bleed again.
