Is the bleeding from the anal fissure, i.e. after defecation? I would give it a little more time, fissures are very slow to heal. You shouldn't rely only on the botox, you have to continue with the conservative measures (diet, water, defecation measures) and apply an ointment that will aid the effort.

      Hi Nicole

Scientific studies have shown that Botux has a 95% healing rate only when Nifedipine 0.5% is used together with the Botux and you still need to use stool softner, eat proper etc for it to heal.

Not sure the cure rate without Nifedipine but I think I remember reading its 80%

I have rectogesic but only been using it once a day.

which stool softeners should i be using ?

and what food should i be eating ?

No one said anything about diet?

You could use lactulose as a stool softner. Avoid white rice and bread, pasta... Your diet should be rich in fiber, your main meals could be home cooked. A good choice is the so-called "stew" - a combination of meat, vegetables cooked in like a soup.

You can use your rectogesic cream. Be careful and gentile when applying it.

Nicole, use the rectogesic 2 times a day you have to use it on mornings after a bowel movement and at night before you sleep it has worked well for me like this thus far. My condition is far better than 3 months ago when I was about to kill myself.

Still painful after a BM for 8 hours straight but nowhere hear as bad as before.

Never use toilet paper just wash with Dove Soap. I always use soap but as natural as I can find. You can use Miralax unfortunately I can't get it to buy locally so I have to settle for ducosate or milk of magnesia and even then they don't always work I often question if these things even work to begin with. Harvard School of Medicine also doesn't think these things even work.

You can eat Avocado and Papaya, gluten free bread or 12 Grain bread, salads, pears and AVOID bananas even ripe ones. Grapes are excellent also, beans and peas aswell.

Parboiled Rice in small amounts is good

I can't find anyone in my country that administers Botux unfortunately. So I am depending on Nitro Cream and after it finishes I will get Nifedipine 0.5%
