Bleeding during sex, no pain, long periods

hello,

I wonder if anyone can advise me.

I have always been bang on regular with my periods until Feb this year, started spotting a week before it was due then was very heavy for 5 days (ive always been a 3 day person) its been the same since then. A week of spotting then 5 days heavy. A few weeks ago i was having sex with husband and he was hitting my ovary so hard i had to stop him, afterwards i was in a lot of pain for a day then tender for a week or so. I am a few days away from my heavy bleed and have started spotting, just had sex with my husband and there is a lot of blood over him and me.

ive seen a consultant who did an ultrasound and saw that my uterine lining was thicker than it should be, my painful ovary is behind my uterus and there is a pocket of fluid between my bowel and uterus too. She suspects endometriosis but im in no pain during my periods.

Very scared. im 35 and have 2 very young children. this seems strange to happen out of the blue one month! Can anyone advise??

    Hi Charlotte

Pain during sex is no fun, nor the rest of what's going on with you. I can't tell you for sure that it's endo, nor can anyone else here. There are women here whose endo was never symptomatic in any way but which was found accidentally when docs were looking for something else. Sometimes happens as late as in one's 40s. i hate to say this but if your consultant doesn't know that women can have pain-free endo, that consultant doesn't know much about this condition. Were any treatment options discussed?

You need a laparoscopy to see the full extent of what's going on. You might have to push hard for it if you don't present the extreme pain which some have. Endo requires that we be very assertive advocates for ourselves. You may have to push hard on the painful sex aspect, using the details you've given here. i often tell women here that they should keep a diary of symptoms, then take that and someone who believes them to the medical appointments. In your case, it would be great if your hubby would go along.

I hope you get some help soon.
