Blepharitis and dry eyes before cataract surgery

Hi all, I have been trying to clear up my blepharitis and dry eye before scheduling cataract surgery. This is a chronic condition for me as I was first diagnosed 17 years ago and have been trying to manage since that time. I'm currently doing everything I can including doxycycline 40 mg daily, flaxseed and omega-3 oil capsules, Bruder warm mask 2-3 times a day, and Bruder hypochlorous acid spray. I'm concerned that I may not be able to improve these conditions and will have to go ahead with the surgery regardless. I understand these are common conditions, so I was wondering how others have managed. Thank you!

Cataract surgery can worsen dry eye disease and blepharitis, but it sounds like you are following a standard treatment plan. What has your cataract surgeon said to you.?

Not really concerned as far as I can tell.
I've also been to a dry eye specialist who encouraged me to try to treat as much as possible before the surgery.

Well, if your cataract surgeon isn't concerned, I guess they think it will be all right, but you should prepare yourself in case it does get worse

I believe the thinking is that it might get worse in the short term but will get better.

Yes, it should. You seemed to have all your bases covered.

Oculoplastic surgeons specialize in blepharitis and dry eye disease. You might consult with one, if you haven't already.
